Time Slip and Butterflies

Time Slip.

We were strolling along the sidewalk of a park, hunting for butterflies that we could take photos of, when a glitch of sepia tone clouded everything on my sight. That lasted for seconds then it faded away. Although the colours of the world returned, everything came to a still. The clouds were not moving and no wind stirred the trees. It was as if the world got tired. My friend, who was with me, walked towards a tree in front of him, as if someone is calling him.

Then and there, butterflies appeared from nowhere.. They flew around us. One butterfly rested on a tree branch, closed its wings and stared at me. I captured every moment of it using my camera while it bathed in sunlight, innocently opening its wings.. I took images of the butterfly until my gaze was struck by the tree in front of me. I looked above and witnessed the tree’s branches and leaves covering the sky. I can’t help but took photos of its magnificence.

The next day, I and my friend came back at the same spot. We returned to that same location, the place where we were dazzled by the butterflies. We continue the search but we were unable to find the tree..

I know. It was a time slip.

Our cameras do not remember the butterflies and the tree. There were no single photographs of what happened on that place. The cameras only remember the things before and after we left that spot.

Grammar edited mercilessly by Mr. Nonsense! What’s correct, butterflied or butterflew?

Time slips are scenarios where you enter a dimension of the past that may or may not exist in the current world.

and a tree could not be erased in just a day.

i believe it was a time slip.

and then boom, we went back..

and i researched about missing trees.

they are all folktales.. and then i happened to read about time slips.. so may be it was time slips. hehe.

    “I am born today
    to drink and be chased—
    seven busy days.”

Your post reminds me of this haiku entitled ‘butterfly’ I wrote
that speaks much about life and its fleeting nature.. Only when you think you’ve captured its very image, it disappears then like a memory from a dream.

    • Ax says:

      salamat, suckingbird killer!

  22. joycee says:

Amazing! O baka ibang place pala yun? Hehe.

  23. I do not know if they are really called “time slips” but the situation you described do happen… :)

I have talked to many persons who have encountered similar happenings, and they were not intoxicated…

Of course, nature always has many tricks up in her shoulders… :)

    • Ax says:

Hehe, pinanagutan ko lang na time slip. Me also not sure if it was really a time slip, but the missing trees, they are for dang real!

Hehehe… Anyways, more on time slips… Physics still has a lot to uncover with regards to time travel… One way travel into the future, or a time slip into the future is possible by argumentation. However, no laws would support a time slip to the past… :)

Physicists still need a unification theory to allow for more viable conjecture… At isa pa, ika nga ng “kaibigan” kong si Stephen Hawking, we don’t bump into tourists from the future… :)

Sabi naman ng physics consultant namin dito dati na nakapagtrabaho sa NASA, kailangan nilang makakita ng paraan kung paano i-violate ang 2nd law of thermodynamics, the law of entropy wherein systems move from an ordered state to a disordered state… Time slips to the past would mean moving from a disordered state to an ordered state… :)

  24. taga-bundok says:

Ahhh… Fantasy world. Baka napunta kayo sa ibang dimension. Ano nga ba tawag dun, parallel…?! Maa-access kaya ng future humans ang past and present natin thru time warp / machine? Napanuod mo ba yung “the time machine”? Gusto kong mag-travel at puntahan yung panahon na nag-time slip kayo… Seryoso, may tanong ako. Ano yung haiku? Yun lang. Matlasa! :D

    • Ax says:

Hehe, ako rin! gustong gusto ko magtime travel! kahit anong era, epoch, tme frame man yan!

yung haiku, isang form of peotry originated in japan. 5-7-5 ang sukat nito!

  25. taga-bundok says:

Pahabol! Ano yung “butterfly effect”? Napanuod ko lang yung movie 5 years ago… Naalala ko lang sa post mo. May kinalaman din kaya yun sa time slip?

    • Ax says:

Haha.. at according to my friend, Wiki:

The butterfly effect is a metaphor that encapsulates the concept of sensitive dependence on initial conditions in chaos theory; namely that small differences in the initial condition of a dynamical system may produce large variations in the long term behavior of the system. Although this may appear to be an esoteric and unusual behavior, it is exhibited by very simple systems: for example, a ball placed at the crest of a hill might roll into any of several valleys depending on slight differences in initial position. The butterfly effect is a common trope in fiction when presenting scenarios involving time travel and with “what if” scenarios where one storyline diverges at the moment of a seemingly minor event resulting in two significantly different outcomes.

  26. eli says:

    wow..galing ng kuha mo ax.

  27. dencios says:

  28. Kulasa says:

    Mahusay po.

  29. kaye says:

I’d say you and your friend were lucky to have experienced the joy and beauty of such a spectacle. :-)

  30. ube says:

  31. Mr. Nonsense says:

Disappointed ako dahil hindi mo in-edit yung last blog ko….marami palang mali. so para hindi ka mapahiya na katulad ko, o tulad ni jason, o kung sino man yung gumawa ng mga signs sa vietnam doon sa last blog ni winkie, eh tutulungan kitang mag proofread. so eto na:

    Time Slip.

We (were)stroll(ing along) the sidewalk of a park, hunting for butterflies that we could take photos of, (when) a glitch of sepia tone clouded everything on my sight. That lasted for seconds (then) it faded away. Although it faded (use different word than fade) away, everything (came to a still?). The clouds (were)not moving and no wind stirred the trees. It was as if the world (got) tired. My friend(,) who was with me(,) walked in front of a tree as if someone is calling him.

Then and there, butterflies appeared from nowhere (delete “no signs of where they came from” since we already know they came from “nowhere”). They (flew…not flied like flied lies) around us. One butterfly rest(ed) on a (tree branch), clipped (?) its wings and stared at me. I captured every moment of it using my camera while it bathe(d) in sunlight, innocently opening its wings. I (captured) images of the butterfly until my gaze was captured(striken or struck?) by the tree in front of me. I look(ed) above and saw the sumptuousness(?) of its branches and leaves twigging out(?) covering the sky. I can’t help but took photos of its magnificence.

The next day, (my friend and I)came back at the same spot. We (returned) to that same location, that place where we were dazzled by the butterflies. We continue(d) the search(,) but we were unable to find the tree.

I know.(fragmented, may combine these sentences) It was a time slip.

Our cameras do not remember the butterflies and the tree. There were no single photographs of what happened on that place. The cameras only remember the things before and after we left that spot.(teka muna. kala ko eh kinunan nyo ng litrato? teka muna…scandalous ba yung pictures nyo? sino sa inyo ang paru-paro na nagbukas ng pekpek…i mean, pakpak!

  33. ODDBLOOD says:

waw..buti pala nabasa ko ‘toh..this is my first time to come upon this stuff..may ganito pala..i’ve once been copied by a doppleganger but i don’t think na may ganitong mas bizarre na pangyayari..

  34. hi there, I havenot had a time slip myself my friend has though whilst holidaying in Rhyle wales uk. he went with a friend to a caravan for a week. and decided to look at gift shops he went to one and his friend looked in another, and Ron bought a box with a nice picture of a glode on top and brought it back to the caravan his friend joined him back at the caravan later, as it was late they went to bed the next day ron went back to the shop and found it boarded up! someone said it had been closed 20 years! he was puzzled but went back to the caravan and couldnot find the globe box anywhere! and his friend flatly denied he bought anything! Ron to this day said he did go in to the shop it was so real. I put the question forward did the person serving in the shop think you had strange currancy (not money from 20 years previously) and he said nothing was said by the woman serving him! someone needs to go back and investigate I am sure of it.

    • Ax says:

That’s epic time slip for your friend! Most people would experience bizarre things once in their life and probably you’ll experience one too.. in the coming days. I haven’t had one either, or I am just denying it. I hope I can travel as far as a hundred years back from this current time frame.. And I wish I could get one memento from that time frame and bring it back with me on my real time!
