This is the exact same letter I just sent awhile back to my Web Hosting Service. Just want to share the mood I am into right now. Everything is the same, a duplicate. But still, I respect my hosting provider and so I will practice my right to protect their name. And AxRealm is not a defamatory website. I stand with my principle.
Subject: My Comments Are Gone
Dear Hosting Provider:
This is not the first time this happened. It’s like history repeating itself. As you may not know, <insert provider’s name here>, on the night of 06/12/09, i lost four days: two installed plugins, one article, a hundred comments, and updates on my websites. My four days were gone. Everything I worked for was trashed. When my co-bloggers asked what happened, I did not told them “hey, it’s <insert provider’s name here>‘s fault, they deleted my damn stuffs,” instead I told them it’s WordPress’ fault when I updated to a new version. And, of course, I did not contact you as I do not want to add as a stressor to you guys.
And then yesterday, there is a maintenance which lasted for 12+ hours. And these 12-hour time frame is the only hours I am only available to do clean up on my blog. But of course, I cannot do that, and I believe maintenance is a must for hosting services.
And then awhile back, I am so damn happy that my website is accessible yet again but to my dismay, the same reason of my angst that I felt on 06/12/09 is the very same reason why I am writing you now.
I again lost precious comments.
Do you think those comments were just bits of information? just a dot-text file? do you think those were just a total of 5KB arranged-letters-formed-into-words popped up messages?
Yes, my comments are again nowhere to be found. Ow, sorry, those were not really comments, those were pieces of memories of my blog. Those were pieces of advises that my friends and loved ones said to me. Those were supposed to be greetings by my soon-to-be-friends in the blogrld. Those comments are special.
Is this short-term selective amnesia disease of a blog?
Now I ask of you, will you be able to return my extraordinary comments? And yes, I am a bit cheesy right now telling stuff like these so may I rephrase it. Will you be able to return those .txt files?
And yes, partly, they are important. Some comments that are missing are part of a blog-contest-article in which comments are the standard of winning. And yes, this is just a petty contest. A small time. Yes, cheap is the correct term.
Now it confuses me because your tagline says you are secure and reliable. Would you mind prove it one more time? And, may be, one more time is all you’ve got.
Sorry if this letter would hurt you guys, but I have to tell all these things.
